![]() (above) At the December meeting Jane's Packrat hand puppet shows off all the things he has been collecting in his backpack. He and Jane hope to move from Georgia to western Oregon soon, but Packrat is finding it difficult to organize and pack up all his valuable possessions -- just like all of us puppeteers who have collected a variety of puppets, props, and stages over the years.

Looking back at previous years' get-togethers Back in Summer of 2021
The Willamette Valley Puppeteers were invited to present live in-person performances and educational demonstrations of puppetry at two events: *The Lane County (Eugene, Oregon) Fair on Saturday, July 24 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. *The Western Oregon Exposition (Cottage Grove) on Saturday, August 21 - 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. |

Puppet Play Day (left above) Jeanie, Doris, and Janie work together to manipulate one of Doris's new tabletop rod puppets. (right above) Melinda investigates how to move the head and an arm of the other tabletop rod puppet.
_________________________________________________________________ (below) Diana brought her two new human figures for stop-motion animation, and posed them in a cookout scene with her older figure, against a food backdrop. The new figures are eminently poseable, and they are blanced to be able to stand or sit by themselves. Diana purchased them from a local artist who designed
and manufactured them on a 3-D printer. Perhaps at a future get-together our Guild members could try their hand at some short stop-motion animation scenes? ![]() Please become a guild member - it's always free, and everybody who likes puppetry is invited to join. Adults, older children, and teens of all abilities are welcome. There is a place for you in our Guild. Contact Doris 458-205-8570 (landline) or [email protected] Click on the Newsletters 2018- tab at the top of this page to see information about more recent meetings and events of this guild. **************** Here are some of the WVP members with their puppets who performed in July and August 2021. |

The Guild meets once a month (although we sometimes skip a few months due to holidays or members' summer vacations) to enjoy the fellowship of other puppeteers and to plan events such as performances and workshops for members and for the public. Locations, dates, time, and nature of meetings and other activities are determined by the members. There are no dues to pay, and anyone interested in any aspect of puppetry is invited to join - just attend a meeting or contact us by e-mail or telephone. Members receive a newsletter and other information by e-mail. Those who are unable to attend meetings in western Oregon are invited to participate as e-members. Members are invited to post a list of their upcoming public performances or a link to their puppetry-related website on our "Events and Artists" page, at no charge. For more information, or to join the Guild, contact guild president Doris Hicks at [email protected] or phone 458-205-8570 in Eugene, Oregon.
